Dr. Jorge Cortés is CMO in Hospital Clínica Bíblica, the largest and most prestigious private hospital in Costa Rica.  

Dr. Cortés has focused his work on hospital quality and patient safety, which has translated in Hospital Clínica Bíblica becoming the first organization in Central American to receive an accreditation by the Joint Commission International.

The working group at Hospital Clínica Bíblica has lead the Hospital to experience continuous growth, which reflects in the tripling of its size in 10 years, both in production and infrastructure. This has made HCB a role model in Latin America, because of its mixture of technology and medical advancements with quality standards.

Dr. Cortés has been a guest speaker at several international conferences, including Hospital Quality in Singapore. He’s the President and founding Member of the Costa Rican Council for the Promotion of Medical Tourism, former Secretary General for the College of Doctors of Costa Rica and has been member of the board of several autonomous  institutions in Costa Rica. Dr. Cortés completed his residency in Internal Medicine and also has a master’s degree in Management of Medical  Services.
