Rosanna Gomez Moreno

Rosanna Gomez Moreno is a System Executive for International Business Development for the Memorial Hermann Healthcare System and Executive Director for International Services at Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center. In addition, Ms. Moreno is a Texas licensed attorney.
Born and raised in San Antonio, Texas, she attended the University of Texas at San Antonio earning her B.A. in 1983 and earned an M.A. in International Relations from St. Mary's University in 1994. In 1996, Ms. Moreno attended South Texas College of Law in Houston and received her Juris Doctorate in 1999.
Her career began in 1983 at Frost Bank in San Antonio, Texas. In 1984, she worked for MedCentre Bank, a small community bank. However, in 1985, she returned to Frost Bank to manage the letter of credit department. In 1991, she left her position as an officer of the bank to stay home with her daughter, Analissa. After pursuing her master's and law degrees during her tenure at home, she returned to the workforce in 2001 as an investment banker. While managing International Private Banking at Compass Bank in Houston, she was presented with the opportunity to develop international clientele for Wells Fargo Bank as a Private Banker in February 2003. In November 2005, Ms. Moreno joined the Memorial Hermann Healthcare System to lead International Services and International Business Development.
As an active member of the Houston community, Ms. Moreno has received the “2009 Female Executive of the Year” award at the Tribute to the Hispanic Woman by Sucesos Newspaper and Citgo Petroleum Co. In addition, Ms. Moreno received the Sor Juana Ines de la Cruz “Woman of Achievement” award in March 2007 from the National Museum of Mexican Art of Chicago and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. Additionally, she was chosen as an honoree for the University of Houston Table Talk 2007: A Tapestry of Women in March 2007. Ms. Moreno completed her American Leadership Forum fellowship as a member of the 2006 Class XXIV and is a Fall 2003 graduate of the Center for Houston’s Future fellowship.
Ms. Moreno serves on several community boards which include the Mexican Institute of Greater Houston, Baylor Teen Health Clinic, Junior League Community Advisory Board, U.S.-Panama Business Council Southwest Chapter and is the 2009 Chair of the Texas Medical Center International Affairs Advisory Council. Other past board service includes the Duchesne Academy of the Sacred Hearth, Amigos de las Americas International Board, Houston Holocaust Museum, American Diabetes Association, Prepared4Life the Mental Health Association of Greater Houston, the Cultural Arts Council of Houston/Harris County, Houston Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Gulf Coast Workforce Development Board, La Rosa Family Services, the Houston World Affairs Council, the Ronald McDonald House of Houston and the University of Texas-Houston Medical School Faculty Wives' and Faculty Womens’ Association.
Ms. Moreno’s commitment has extended to serving on the Houston TEXANS Hispanic Advisory Board, the Junior League of Houston Community Advisory Committee, and chairs the University of Houston Center for Mexican American Studies Endowment Campaign. Additionally, Ms. Moreno chaired the HISD Graduation Oversight Committee which addressed the drop-out rate in Houston. Ms. Moreno is also the 2006 and 2007 Chair of Houston’s Edward James Olmos Latino Book and Family Festival. With a strong belief breast cancer awareness must extend to the Latina community, Ms. Moreno participated on the Susan G. Komen Foundation – Houston Affiliate Development Task Force in 2003.
Ms. Moreno is a member of the State Bar of Texas and a former member of the Texas Economic Development State of Texas/Mexico Office Advisory Committee. Appointed by the Mayor of Houston, Ms. Moreno serves on the Mayor’s International Business Development Council for the Americas and was elected Secretary for 2007.
