Trey Malicoat is currently the Vice President of Communications for Homewatch CareGivers International and is responsible for all global branding, marketing and PR strategy for international operations and 105 franchisees. Malicoat previously served as President of Signature Hospice in Portland, Oregon and served on the faculty at Oregon State University and Clackamas Community College. He has worked in healthcare and non-profit management for over seventeen years providing clinical and administrative oversight of multiple comprehensive programs for adults and children. Trey has worked as an administrator, clinician, consultant and educator focused on the effects of change on life functioning since the early 1990’s.

Trey’s comprehensive understanding of change has allowed him to work with victims of the Columbine High School shooting, the World Trade Center tragedy and numerous other regional crises. He has trained and consulted with numerous organizations impacted by change including: Portland General Electric, Spirit Mountain Casino, Young Life International, Skylight Children’s Trust New Zealand, New Jersey Mental Health, Yurzgood Ukrainian Health Initiative, The Oregon Department of Corrections, The Association for Death Education and Counseling, Mercy Regional Cancer Center, The National Pay it Forward Foundation, Oregon Criminal Justice Association, The Oregon Counseling Association, The San Antonio AIDS foundation, and many others.   

Trey is recognized as a national expert on the effects of stress and trauma and is a noted trainer on personal resiliency, power, change, and life transition. His work has been recognized by numerous regional and national newspapers, radio and TV stations including: The Oregonian, The Christian Science Monitor, The Association for Death Education Forum, New Zealand Channel One, Oregon Public Radio, National Public Radio New Zealand, Good Day Oregon, and numerous others.  He has conducted workshops and trainings for state and national groups in Texas, New Mexico, New York, New Jersey, Oregon, Washington, Colorado, California, Canada, and New Zealand.  Past attendees have described Trey with words like, “Dynamic” “Challenging & Motivating!” “Inspiring”, “Bold”, “A man of true integrity and passion.” Regardless of the topic, Trey leaves audiences with a sense of hope, challenge, honor and purpose.  

  He has written numerous training manuals, professional articles, and promotional pieces and he has recently published and nationally distributed a 38-page booklet on how children process life change, death, and divorce loss released in the US and New Zealand. In addition, Trey is currently working on a book about the “living authentically” to be published in 2009.

Trey holds a Master of Science Degree in Psychology from Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio, TX and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Relations from Whitworth College in Spokane, Washington.

Trey and his partner live in Denver Colorado with their dogs Bella and Keiser.
